The Belgian Diplomacy Family Association, in short BeFamily, is the membership association for family members with a partner or parent employed in the external career of the Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. BeFamily is run by, and for, family members. Formerly known as Alloquium, BeFamily was founded over 40 years ago. Our purpose remains the same; assisting you, as a family member, with the challenges you encounter while moving and living around the world and in Belgium. We are a factual association under Belgium law.

We advocate for family policy matters within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We get issues on the agenda and propose solutions. These issues can be anything from education or employment to pension, housing, healthcare, travel or childcare. We also organise events for you, inform you about the latest developments and connect you to other partners/families around the world.
